Hi, nice reading about your usage of compression. I'm using the 2XU calf guard too. but i realised if it is too long hours on that, it is not so comfy. However, i use the Zensah leg sleeve for pre & post workout. I use it even during my bed time. I found this is more comfy as the fabric is more breathable.

Hi Jen!
I stumbled upon your web-site and realized I saw you at our Egg Nog Jog in December. Thank's for putting your experiences and goals on this site as I think it's inspirational, especially for me since I have 3 kids, a miserable husband, lol and a full time job. I am running regularily at the gym trying to get my endurance back again. I run with the Georgetown Runners, but they make me look "out of shape". John Grace is my "hero" sort of speak. I would love to be able to keep up with him someday. My best 5K was 22:36, a few years ago, now, it would be way slower. My goals are to run a 1:50 half at Mississauga. Not sure how to train for that? I am going to take baby steps with the Lydiard method, easy and harder method. Any suggestions?
By the way, how did you get interested and when did you start the Tri's? I am not a strong swimmer. What would your training schedule look like now? How is your running schedule during this weather? Sorry lots of questions! Thanks for your site again, you are truly inspirational! :)

Thank you Anonymous for your comment! I can appreciate your concern for eating maltodextrin and fructose.
My post was specifically regarding my new found gluten intolerance and my goal was to note that Powerbar products work well for me. I would love to be able to make my own bars but I don't have the time to do so.It is a product that I can purchase, fuels me well and doesn't irritate my digestive system (which is very important to me, especially while I am racing).
Each athlete has different needs and I would encourage you or anyone else to find a product or recipe works best for you.
